Since joining Hakes Realty in 2004, Terry Backlund has joined the ranks of multi-million producers in Cook County.  Terry loves to sell houses because he says, 'every house has a story' and their history interests him greatly.  His immediate success in this business is complemented by the fact that Terry grew up in Cook County, so he knows this territory well. In fact, Terry's great grandfather, Hans Engelsen, was the founder of Tofte! Terry brings a wealth of work experience to Hakes Realty, including management positions at both Krispy Kreme and Cargill in the Twin Cities, and at Sven and Ole's right here in Grand Marais! In addition to having a personal and professional passion for real estate, Terry enjoys horse-racing, baseball, art, business, and day-trading. However, let it be known that Terry's #1 passion is being the "World's Greatest Dad" to sons Ty and Seth.  Terry and his wife, Lori, live in Grand Marais.
